What I did was wash my hands with antibacterial soap first. Then I soaked a cotton ball in the sea salt solution I made. I then inserted into the ear canal. I would leave it for 5 minutes or so, until I felt relief. It’s kind of messy. The solution slowly poured out of my ear. I then removed the cotton ball and let it air dry.

i think any brand is good, you can find it just at your local grocery store.

Sea salt is recommended for every piercing.Even when you get your ear lobes pierced, a sea salt mixture is better than the stuff they give you because that dries your piercing out. What are you getting pierced?Just curious.H2Ocean is AMAZING.I love that stuff, I’ve used it on all of my piercings. And I have my ears gauged to a 2, snakebites[lip piercing on each side], belly, industrial, tragus, and 5 other holes going up my lobes. I also used their tattoo products when I got my 2 tats on my hips.H2Ocean has an aerosol form so it stays sterile, and I think it makes it easier so that’s the one I get.You can get it usually at any tat and piercing shop, but I get mine from Hot Topic, if they have it it’ll be in the case with all the gauges. It’s about $10.00, 1 can will last me over 6 months, and I clean everything with it about twice a week. Here’s the site for H2Ocean:http://www.h2ocean.com/Good luck with your new piercing.

Aquarium salt is pure sodium chloride the same as pickling salt. Sea salt is just that…..from the sea and is full of trace elements. Rock salt can come from different sources but the best comes from ancient sea beds which has to be mined. EDIT: Sea salt is not high in iodine but does contain it. Iodine aids in the production of thyroxin which is a hormone which helps control metabolisim. Iodine prevents a thyroid condition called goiter.

Do not use alcohol or peroxide. Just go to the grocery store and buy some sea salt. It’s really cheap. You mix 1/4 tsp sea salt with 8 oz of warm water, and there you go, a sea salt solution. You don’t want to use regular table salt, it won’t do it any good. If you really can’t run out to the store today or tomorrow, then a really mild soap would be ok for a couple days (like plain Dove or Dial), but after that, you’re asking for trouble.

Sea salt is distilled and purified after it has been collected and before packaging.Table salt is pasteurized after it has been packaged.I’ve worked at piercing places in the past and with 35++ piercings I’m going to say either epson or sea salt. I’ve tried table salt and I noticed more inflammation than the sea salt. If you can get your hands on H2ocean sea salt spray I highly recommend that, its much easier than leaning over two lil dixie cups trying to soak your new piercing.

A dish prepared with sea salt will taste the same but will not be kosher. If you are preparing a dish for someone that requires food to be kosher, you will have to use the proper ingredients.

1/4 tsp of salt per cup of warm water. Soak it for at least 5 minutes.
